Core Beliefs

About the Bible

We believe that the Bible is the divinely preserved and inspired Word of God.

(2 Timothy 3:16)

About God

We believe God is eternally and simultaneously both one and three: Father, Son, and Spirit.

(John 17:11, 1 Corinthians 3:16)

About Jesus

We believe Jesus Christ was, in the flesh, both God and man...and that He died for our sins...and that He rose from the dead.

(John 1:1-14, 1 Corinthians 15:1-8)

About Mankind

We believe every person has a worth as a creation of God, but all have sinned and fallen short of God's perfection, making union with God by human effort impossible.

(Romans 3:23)

About Forgiveness

We believe that forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternal life are avaliable to all people who will accept the free gift of God's grace through Jesus Christ.

(John 3:16-17)

About Salvation

We believe that those trusting Christ should repent of their sin, confess their faith, and be baptized into the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

(Acts 2:38, Matthew 28:19-20)

About the Church

We believe that the church is the community of God and the body of Christ on earth and exists to reach those who are far from Christ and to disciple believers.

(Matthew 28:19-20)

About Eternity

We believe that Jesus Christ will one day return, as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, to take the church to heaven for eternity.

(1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

About Baptism

We believe that Christian baptism is a public declaration of the believer’s salvation in Christ, identifying with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection symbolized by immersion in water.

(Acts 2:41; Romans 6:3-6)

About Communion

The Lord’s Supper is the united commemoration by believers of Christ’s death until He comes and should be preceded by a careful self-examination.

(1 Corinthians 11:20-29)

Our Purpose and Calling

We believe that God created mankind—male and female—in His own image and likeness, free of sin, to glorify Himself and enjoy His fellowship. We believe it is the aim, duty, and privilege of every believer and local church fellowship to glorify God by responding as active participants in the Great Commission call of Jesus Christ to go and make disciples of all nations.

(Matthew 28:19)

About Marriage

We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by and publicly entered into before God.

(Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6, Hebrews 13:4)

About Community

As believers we are not on our own anymore. We are bound together in His body the church. Each of us finds our meaning and function as part of His believing community. The church is designed to function by honoring God through worship, fellowship, encouraging one another to grow spiritually, meeting needs and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.

(John 17:11,20-23, Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:19-22, 4:16, Hebrews 12:23)
